Safety at Outsies

Meet new people.
Keep control of your plan.

Outsies is built for public, time-limited meetups. Product safeguards help, but your judgment still matters every time you meet someone new.

Built into the app

Safety starts before anyone meets.

Public locations only

Activities must use public meeting points such as venue entrances, cafés, parks, and plazas—not home addresses.

Controlled group access

Hosts can require approval. Group chat opens only to the host and accepted participants.

Tools when something is wrong

Blocking and reporting help stop unwanted contact and preserve the information needed to review a report.

Before you go

A few minutes of planning makes a difference.

  1. Check the plan. Make sure the time, group, and public meeting point feel right to you.
  2. Tell someone. Share where you are going and when you expect to be back.
  3. Control your transportation. Have your own way there and back so you can leave at any time.
  4. Keep early conversations in Outsies. This helps keep context available if you need to report something.
  5. Trust your instincts. Leave if the place, plan, or person feels different from what you expected.

An important limit

No app can guarantee another person's behavior.

Outsies does not perform background checks or guarantee identity or safety. If you are in immediate danger, leave the area and contact local emergency services.
