Outsies · Meet up around events
Going to a big event alone?
Find a small, public meetup and experience it together. Outsies helps people connect around conventions, concerts, festivals and everyday plans.
Made for big events
Make a huge event feel smaller.
A convention, concert, or festival is one pin on the map. Inside it, a handful of small, public meetups form around the things that make an event work — the line, the food, the photos, the ride home.

- Line buddy
- Lunch
- Cosplay photos
- Ride together
- After-event dinner
Example events are illustrative. Outsies is not affiliated with an event unless explicitly stated.
How it works
From event to meetup in three steps
The main map shows one event pin rather than every meetup, so it stays readable. The smaller meetups appear inside the event.
Find your event
Open the map and pick the event you're going to — a convention, concert, festival, or any big gathering.
Join or create a meetup
Browse the small meetups inside the event and join one, or create your own at a public spot like a venue entrance or plaza.
Coordinate safely in group chat
Once you're accepted, group chat opens for the host and participants to sort out the details.
Beyond big events
Outsies also works for everyday plans.
Big events are where Outsies shines, but the same small, public meetups work for the rest of your week.
- Birthday meetups
- Coffee and food
- Walking and sightseeing
- Games and local activities
Safety
Made for public, controlled meetups
Meeting new people in real life has real risks. Outsies is built around the basics that keep it manageable.
Public meeting places
Meetups happen at parks, plazas, and venue entrances. Home addresses are never allowed.
Join approval where required
A host can require approval for every request, so the group stays the size and kind the host wants.
Group chat restricted to accepted participants
Chat is limited to the host and accepted participants, and opens only after you join.
Blocking and reporting
Block anyone you don't want to hear from, and report unsafe activities or messages.
Meetup safety guidance
The safety page walks through how to meet someone new responsibly.
Control your own transportation
Arrange your own way there and back so you can leave whenever you need to.
Account deletion
You can delete your account from the app at any time.
An honest limit: Outsies does not perform background checks or guarantee another person's identity, behavior or safety. You decide whether a meetup feels right.

FAQ
Common questions
What is Outsies?
Outsies is a mobile app for finding and creating small, public meetups around big events — conventions, concerts, and festivals — and for everyday plans like coffee or a walk. It keeps the map readable by showing one event pin at a time, with the smaller meetups inside it.
Is Outsies a dating app?
No. It's a coordination tool for meeting up with people around events and shared activities. There's no matching or swiping, and it isn't positioned as a dating service.
Does Outsies display my home address?
No. Meetups must be at public places like parks, plazas, or venue entrances, and the app warns hosts never to use a home address. Your home address is never used as a meeting location.
How does meetup approval work?
Hosts can require approval for every join request. Your request stays pending until the host accepts or rejects it, so the group stays the size and kind the host wants.
When can I enter group chat?
Group chat opens after you're accepted as a participant, and it's limited to the host and accepted participants. Direct messages are available between people who share an accepted meetup.
Can I create a birthday meetup?
Yes. Meetups are valid on their own, without a parent event. You can create a birthday, coffee, or game meetup at any public place with a date, time, and a small group.
What happens after an event ends?
Beta retention behavior is being finalized. Before public release the app will document exactly how long events, meetups, messages, and other data are kept after an event ends. Nothing is deleted silently during the beta.
Is Outsies affiliated with the events displayed?
No. Events on the map are public gatherings such as conventions, concerts, and festivals, and Outsies isn't affiliated with them unless explicitly stated. Example events are illustrative.
How do I join the iPhone or Android beta?
The beta is invitation-based and isn't open yet. When a beta link is available it appears in the "Join the beta" section above. Invited testers receive their link directly from the developer.
Is the beta free?
Yes. Joining the beta is free. The beta may contain unfinished features, and there is no cost to participate.
